Malware: Does RealPlayer Deserve Badware Label?
February 23rd, 2008 Posted/Linked by Shanmuga ShareThis
"The Google-backed StopBadware.org group has explained the thinking behind its decision to slap the "badware" label on two versions of RealNetworks’ RealPlayer software, insisting there are serious problems with the installation process and behavior of the products.
But RealNetworks is hitting back, arguing that the claims raised by StopBadware.org doesn’t justify the company’s flagship media player to carry the embarrassing "badware" tag. "[The] only thing bad is the report itself," said RealNetworks Vice President Jeff Chasen in a point-by-point reaction to the StopBadware.org report." - Content courtesy of Does RealPlayer Deserve `Badware` Label?

Real player is crap. I installed it and it asked me Do you want to maek real player your default player? I checked no and it made itself the default player any way. It also installed software that it did not mention during the installation process. It also kept giving an error message when trying to watch some video. Real alternative fixed all of those problem. Thank god for real alternative.
