Firefox hits record market share

"Firefox has been playing with the 20% market share mark for some time now. Back in July we reported that the browser has begun jumping over 20% on several days and this trend has solidified since then. In October, Firefox’ average market share as measured by Net Applications was 19.97%, up 0.51 points from 19.46% in September.

Mozilla adds 900 fixes and upgrades Firefox 3 beta

"Mozilla released the latest beta of Firefox 3, including some 900 bug fixes and highlighting for users that it is for testing purposes only. The release comes less than a week after Microsoft showed off the next version of its browser – Internet Explorer 8 – at its annual Mix show for developers.

Firefox 3 beta 3 polishes rough edges

"Mozilla has announced the official release of the third Firefox 3 beta, which includes many user interface improvements and a handful of new features. Firefox 3 is rapidly approaching completion, and much of the work that remains to be done is primarily in the category of fit and finish. There will likely only be one more beta release after this one before Mozilla begins issuing final release candidates.

Mozilla patches 11 Firefox bugs

"Mozilla Corp. late yesterday patched Firefox to quash 11 bugs, including one from three weeks ago that posed a threat to users who had installed any of the more than 600 add-ons for the open-source browser. Firefox 2.0.0.12 fixed four vulnerabilities that Mozilla ranked "critical," one it pegged "high" and three each rated as "moderate" and "low," according to the security advisory posted Thursday.

Mozilla confirms Firefox proof of concept information leak vulnerability

"Mozilla’s security chief Window Snyder has confirmed a proof of concept information leak flaw in Firefox–even fully patched versions. Snyder confirmed the issue in a blog post. The proof of concept vulnerability was highlighted by researcher Gerry Eisenhaur on Jan. 19. In a nutshell, Firefox leaks information that can allow an attacker to load any javascript file on a machine.
