Free Malware Removal Tools – Stand alone

Free antivirus/antimalware tools. These are stand-alone software typically used when dealing with an already infected system. These are not substitutes for full antivirus protection. Some of these tools are targeted towards a specific malware like Conficker, SpyEye etc., while most of them are capable of detecting and removing the full range of threats.

Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool 2011 – Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool 2011 is a free software, designed to scan for infected files and malware and disinfect a computer.

McAfee Avert Stinger – Stinger utilizes next-generation scan engine technology, including process scanning, digitally signed .DAT files, and scan performance optimizations. It detects and removes threats identified under the “List Viruses” icon in the Stinger application.

ESET Standalone malware removal tools – Occasionally, infiltrations require a special removal tool to completely clean the system. ESET provides tools to remove particularly resilient threats, including rogue antivirus programs and malware.

Norton Security Scan – Test your computer’s exposure to online security threats with free antivirus protection.

Microsoft Safety Scanner – The Microsoft Safety Scanner is a free downloadable security tool that provides on-demand scanning and helps remove viruses, spyware, and other malicious software. It works with your existing antivirus software.

F-Secure Easy Clean – finds and removes many of the latest viruses, worms, and spyware detected by our Security Lab. When run, it will do a quick check for rootkit symptoms on the computer and then proceed with scanning and removing infections.

Malware Cleaner | Norman – free and newly improved Malware Cleaner tool to scan and clean your computer from viruses, trojans and other types of malware. This simple and user friendly tool not only detects malicious software but also removes them from your computer.

Kaspersky free virus removal tools – When a new, dangerous virus appears, timely intervention can prevent damage to your data, and help prevent the spread of the virus. Kaspersky Lab has developed free virus removal tools. If your computer has been infected by any of the viruses listed, you can download a free removal utility here.

Clean-up Tools – Trend Micro USA – Trend Micro offers free tools that help detect, identify and clean computers that have been infected by viruses, malware and other Web threats.

Symantec Removal Tools – Symantec Security Response has developed tools to automatically conduct what would often amount to extensive and tedious manual removal tasks. If your system has become infected, the listed tools should aid you in repairing the damage.

Panda QuickRemover – Select the virus that you need to remove from your computer and download the solution for free.

F-Secure – F-Secure malware removal tools perform repair of a system damaged or modified by a specific malicious program. Most of the tools have additional readme files that should be studied before usage.

bitdefender – Free Virus Removal Tools

AVG Antivirus Tools – provides you with a list of specialized utilities for virus removal. The utilities can be used to remove of some of the most common viruses. The list is updated on regular basis.

VIPRE Rescue – a command-line utility that will scan and clean an infected computer that is so infected that programs cannot be easily run. The definitions are included, and the program is self-running once executed. The initial scan, and all subsequent scans, include Rootkit Detection.

Malware Removal Tools | FortiGuard – These tools have been developed by FortiGuard labs to disable and remove the specific malware and related variants. Some tools have been developed to remove specific malware, often tough to remove. A universal cleaning tool, FortiCleanup, is also available for download. FortiCleanup is a tool developed to identify and cleanse systems of malicious rootkit files and their associated malware.

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Free – Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Free utilizes Malwarebytes powerful technology to detect and remove all traces of malware including worms, trojans, rootkits, rogues, dialers, spyware and more.

SUPERAntiSpyware – AntiAdware. AntiSpyware. AntiMalware. – Detect and Remove Spyware, Adware, Malware, Trojans, Dialers, Worms, KeyLoggers, HiJackers and many other types of threats.

Fake Antivirus (FakeAV) Removal Tool – Remove fake antivirus or FakeAV using svchost.exe, svchost.exe.zip, or FakeAV Removal Tool.

Multi-AV Scanning Tool – This tool uses four different virus scanners, from Sophos, trend Micro, Kaspersky and McAfee.

Dr.Web CureIt! – Cure your computer of viruses, Trojans, spyware and other malicious programs with Dr.Web CureIt!, which uses the Dr.Web engine. There is no need for installation and therefore this is an ideal on-demand scanner as there is no conflict with your primary AV. The utility is always armed with the most up-to-date add-ons to the virus databases.

Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool – The Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool checks computers for infections by specific, prevalent malicious software—including Blaster, Sasser, and Mydoom—and helps remove any infection found. When the detection and removal process is complete, the tool displays a report describing the outcome, including which, if any, malicious software was detected and removed. Microsoft releases an updated version of this tool on the second Tuesday of each month, and as needed to respond to security incidents. The tool is available from Microsoft Update, Windows Update and the Microsoft Download Center.

BlitzBlank – BlitzBlank is a tool for experienced users and all those who must deal with Malware on a daily basis. Malware infections are not always easy to clean up. These days the software pests use clever techniques to protect themselves from being deleted. In more and more cases it is almost impossible to delete a Malware file while Windows is running. BlitzBlank deletes files, registry entries and drivers at boot time before Windows and all other programs are loaded.

SmitFraudFix – This tool removes most of the Desktop Hijack malware

JPEGScan – A free, small, fast and easy-to-use scanner that has detection and repair capabilities for JPEG files infected files.

AIMFix – AIMFix was created to remove all known AOL Instant Messenger-related viruses in one consolidated removal tool. It is designed to end the virus processes, delete the files, and remove registry keys created by the virus.

Look2Me-Destroyer – Look2Me infection cleaner.

Gromozon Rootkit Removal Tool – Unfortunately Gromozon is not a single infection, but a blended attack designed to bypass traditional anti-malware tools. The end result meaning that the machine is not only infected by several well known Trojans but also a highly dangerous Rootkit.

ThreatExpert – Memory Scanner – ThreatExpert Memory Scanner provides detection of threats that are already active on a client’s computer system.

Aurora Malware Removal Tool | Sophos Free Tools – Free Aurora Malware Removal Tool from Sophos. Aurora is a malware attack that uses an Internet Explorer vulnerability to drop data-stealing malware.

Downadup (or Conficker) Removal Tool – BitDefender is the first to offer a free tool which disinfects all versions of Downadup.
