Microsoft praises Bulgarians for arrests in alleged phishing scam
Bulgarian authorities, using information provided by Microsoft Corp., have arrested eight individuals accused of operating an international "phishing" scam, the company said in a Friday news release.
Those arrested are suspected of being part of an international criminal network that commits financial fraud and steals personal data through the Internet.
"We are pleased to have collaborated with the Bulgarian authorities in their swift and effective action in this case," said Horacio Gutierrez, associate general counsel for Microsoft Europe.
