Know Your Malware: Rivarts Removal

Rivarts is a dangerous trojan designed to steal bank account details and user sensitive information. Once executed, the parasite secretly installs itself to the system and injects a malicious code into all running processes. This code is a rootkit that hides all Rivarts files, tasks and registry keys.

Then the trojan starts recording confidential data that the user enters into various web forms using Internet Explorer. It also redirects Internet traffic, hijacks the web browser, collects system information and attempts to steal web certificates used in encrypted SSL connections. Rivarts transfers gathered data to predefined web servers.

It is able to lower Internet security settings and automatically update itself via the Internet. Furthermore, the trojan may open a back door providing the attacker with remote unauthorized access to the compromised computer. Rivarts runs on every Windows startup.
