Firm to pay $1.1 million to settle email case
Datran Media Corp., an email marketing company, has agreed to pay $1.1 million to settle accusations that it misused personal data reportedly mined from 6 million email addresses across the country.
The settlement is scheduled to be announced on Monday, New York's Assistant Attorney General, Karen Geduldig, told Reuters, noting that her office began investigating Datran in the summer of 2005. Datran to pay $1.1 million to settle e-mail marketing case - Mar. 12, 2006
