Microsoft, FTC Kick Off 'Get Net Safe' Tour
Microsoft Corp., the National Cyber Security Alliance, the Federal Trade Commission, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and several other organizations launched an Internet safety campaign Tuesday that will tour a dozen U.S. cities to show consumers how to steer clear of spyware, phishing attacks, and other Web threats.
Dubbed the "Get Net Safe" tour, the May-December swing begins in Washington D.C., moves on to Boston, Phoenix, Charlotte, N.C., Chicago, Detroit, New York City, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Dallas before ending up in Orlando.
The tour will host events in schools and with the local Chambers of Commerce, and hold teacher seminars, Internet fairs, and parent education nights, the group said. TechWeb | News | Microsoft, FTC Kick Off 'Get Net Safe' Tour
