ID theft's impact can be devastating
Illegal immigrants who use fake documents to get jobs in America might never consider the victims they create the men, women and children whose identities they steal.
Authorities say a number of out of state people had their identities lifted by employees at Star Packaging in Whitewater.
It was the identity thefts, police say, that led to a long investigation of Star Packaging owner Allen L. Petrie.
Walworth County Assistant District Attorney Diane Donohoo said two suspected illegal immigrants worked at the company using the identities of children-a 10-year-old and a 15-year-old.
