Phishing Alert: RBC Centura
Websense® Security Labs™ has received reports of a new phishing attack that targets customers of RBC Centura. Users receive a spoofed email message which claims their online bill paying service will be deleted for failure to respond to previous contacts and requests that they log in again to prevent deactivation. Upon clicking on the URL in the email message, users are directed to a fraudulent website and are asked to enter their account number and password. In the event that no online account exists, the customer is prompted to use their Social Security number as a user name and password.
This phishing site is hosted in Australia and was up and running at the time of this alert. Websense® - Security Labs Alert: RBC Centura
