Malware Removal: Bankem Removal
Bankem is a trojan designed to steal user sensitive information. Once executed, the parasite secretly installs itself to the system, registers as a web browser add-on and attempts to delete main critical files of installed Microsoft AntiSpyware Beta spyware remover. Then it contacts a predetermined web site, downloads specific instructions and starts monitoring Internet Explorer windows. When the user accesses web resources of well-known banks or online money services, Bankem displays the following message in German or English:
"Confirm That You're the Cardholder
For your protection, please enter the three-digit security code from the back of your card and then select Continue"
This message is used to steal user credit card numbers. The parasite also steals login names and passswords and records data that the user enters into various web forms and fields on particular web sites. Bankem may also download from the Internet and execute arbitrary files. The trojan automatically runs on every Windows startup.
