Sony Blithe About Rootkits, Lies About Privacy Violations
Listen to this NPR report on the Sony DRM scandal, including an interview with the President of Sony BMG's Global Digital Business in which he says "most users don't even know what a rootkit is, so why should they care about it?"
I'm speechless. It's incredible that anyone could say such a thing, and underscores how Sony BMG has become untrustworthy for consumers. They actually think it's no big deal that they put malware on customers' computers that can be exploited by arbitrary attackers, not to mention the damage Sony itself could do.
