Identity Theft on rise - Take Steps to Protect Yourself
Erin Meinen hasn't been herself for the last year.
But that's not her fault — she had no way of knowing her identity had been stolen.
For seven months, someone posing as the 22-year-old Cedar Grove woman had been living in Sheboygan with a utility account in Meinen's name, which she found out only when a collection agency tried to collect $278 in accumulated utility bills.
