Security Software Uninstallers

Security software can be a beast to remove completely, errors during un-installation or partial un-installation are common when running the supplied uninstall program via the Add/remove programs. This list provides links to official uninstallers provided by the respective vendors and from non-vendors. These tools are recommended to be used only after you remove the program through Add/remove programs.

Security Software Uninstallers

OPSWAT AppRemover – AppRemover is a free utility from OPSWAT that enables users to remove antivirus, antispyware and other security applications, as well as left over files remaining from incomplete uninstallations.

AV Uninstall Tools Pack – AV Uninstall Tools Pack includes tools for removing more than 40 anti-virus and anti spyware programs and firewalls. Please read the Readme.txt file in the utility folder.

Norton Uninstaller – This Tool removes a failed installation or a damaged Norton product. The Norton Removal Tool uninstalls all Norton 2003 and later products, Norton 360, and Norton SystemWorks 12.0 from your computer. If you use ACT! or WinFAX, back up those databases before you proceed. You may need your Product Key when you reinstall your Norton product.

McAfee Consumer Products – Running the McAfee Consumer Product Removal tool (MCPR.exe) removes all versions of McAfee consumer products. It does not run on Windows 98 or ME.

I.T. Mate – FreeScan Cleaner – This is a simple batch file that can be used to remove the file’s and folders that McAfee’s "FreeScan" leaves behind.

AVG Remover utility – AVG Identity Protection Remover – AVG Remover utility removes all parts of AVG installation on your computer, including registry items, installation and user files on your disk, etc. AVG Remover is the least option to be used in case the AVG uninstallation / repair installation process has failed repeatedly.

Avira RegistryCleaner – Use the Avira AntiVir RegistryCleaner from this link. Normally the Avira RegistryCleaner removes all entries that were created by AntiVir. In this way, it prepares your system for the installation of a new AntiVir version.

avast! uninstall utility 4.0 – avast! AV 5.0 (Direct Download)avast! AV 6.0 (Direct Download) – Sometimes it´s not possible to uninstall avast! the standard way – using the ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS in control panel. In this case, you can use the uninstallation utility aswClear.

Kaspersky Lab products – enables complete uninstall of the Kaspersky Small Office Security 2 for Personal Computer / for File Server, Kaspersky PURE / PURE R2, Kaspersky Anti-Virus (all versions), Kaspersky Internet Security (all versions), Kaspersky Password Manager (all versions), AVP Tool driver

Nod32 – (Direct Download) Download and run nod32removal.exe to completely remove eset nod32 from your computer.

Microsoft Security Essentials – Microsoft Security Essentials Uninstaller

Microsoft Windows Live OneCare Cleanup Utility – Direct Download. onecarecleanup.exe utility to remove OneCare firewall components.

CA Computer Associates 2009 Products – When trying to uninstall from Add/Remove Programs you get some errors, or if after uninstalling via Control Panel, some traces of the CA software still remain, then use this removal tool.

Trend Micro products – You can use the Trend Micro Diagnostic Toolkit to completely remove old or new versions or remnants of Trend Micro products that were previously installed on your computer.

I.T. Mate – Housecall Cleaner – This is a simple batch file that can be used to remove the files and folders that Trend Micro’s "Housecall ActiveUpdate" leaves behind.

F-Secure – Direct Download – The F-Secure Uninstallation Tool will remove F-Secure Service Platform, F-Secure Anti-Virus and F-Secure Internet Security

ZoneAlarm Products – Direct Download – Use the clean.exe to remove ZoneAlarm products.

BitDefender – BitDefender products uninstaller. This tool can be used for both 32 bit and 64 bit operating systems.

I.T. Mate – Bit Defender Cleaner – This is a simple batch file that can be used to remove the file’s and folders that Bit Defender’s online antivirus scanner leaves behind.
